BEIRUT: Around 174,422 Palestinian refugees live in Lebanon, a census released Thursday by the Lebanese Central Administration of Statistics and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, found.

The census contradicts earlier estimates of more than 450,000 Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

“177,000 is the accurate number," Prime Minister Saad Hariri told participants at the launch of the “National Population and Housing Census of Palestinian Camps and Gatherings in Lebanon.”
