BEIRUT: To the loyal readers and supporters of Annahar’s English Edition, this is an official announcement that the English page will for now cease publication for budgetary reasons.

During the last five years Annahar English has brought you premier political journalism; coverage of Lebanon’s burgeoning and youthful tech ecosystem with its "Start Up City" column; emphasis on talented young Lebanese in the sciences, performing arts, music, and athletic fields with “Faces of Lebanon;" exclusive reporting on women’s issues ranging from work empowerment, equal pay and rights, domestic violence and the change of antique laws in our innovative women's section "NAYA;" and most recently in the “Carpe Diem” poetry page, brought to you a range of talent from Gen Z to Baby Boomers featuring works with heart and soul.

We covered Thawra and it’s idealism for a new Lebanon and the many problems it encountered.

Throughout it all was the wall to wall coverage of the disastrous Port Explosion and its ongoing aftermath including the constant flow of good will aid from around the world. And perhaps of greatest importance and reflective of the Lebanese soul were the thousands of citizens who came from around the country, to cleanup, repair and help restore lives to a semblance of normalcy.

We covered all these things and more, but it was the never quit Lebanese citizens who made it all happen.

As we close this section the formation of a new government has stalled, but the French initiative is still ongoing; borders are being negotiated...
