It was 1969 when my dad landed in Argentina, an unknown land that grew in our hearts to become a far away home.I was born and raised in Argentina. When I became 14 years old, I started viewing myself as Lebanese by blood and Argentinean by heart. In 1989, my family traveled back to Lebanon to settle and grow deeper roots in their motherland. It was only until 1998 that I visited Argentina again for the first time in a while, re-establishing the ties I had with the country. And 17 years later I visited once more, this time with my husband and daughters. It took me a while and a whole lot of pain to decide to move back to Argentina. My 17 years in Lebanon were a rollercoaster that seemed to only go down. Life threw in my face a number of challenges: an ugly divorce between my parents, pregnancy miscarriage, fear of my baby having down syndrome, and my father’s death. All these were not enough for people to stop and hear my story, but it seems like the "C" word really catches people’s attention. Cancer was one of the many challenges that life threw in my face.
