Yemen’s Information Minister issues directive to centralize authority within ministry
The Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, announced on Monday the issuance of a directive organizing the mechanism for receiving and executing instructions within the ministry and its affiliated entities. The move aims to maintain institutional continuity, ensure unified decision-making, and prevent contradictory directives.
According to the directive, “All leaders and employees of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism are prohibited from receiving or executing any directives, instructions, or orders, regardless of their source, unless they are issued directly by the minister or someone he specifically delegates in writing.”
The directive adds that “Any directives issued outside this framework are considered null and void, non-binding, and do not result in any administrative or legal effects, with full legal and administrative responsibility placed on those who execute them.”

Al-Eryani stressed that violations of the directive will lead to accountability under applicable laws and regulations, including administrative and disciplinary measures. He emphasized that leaders and heads of sectors and affiliated institutions must disseminate the directive and ensure it is implemented from the date of issuance.
Al-Eryani explained that the directive reinforces clarity of authority, respect for official channels, and adherence to the law. He asserted that the ministry will continue working as a unified team to serve its national and professional mission, enhance confidence in institutional work, and ensure disciplined and transparent performance during this phase.
