The internal security chief in Idlib Governorate, Brigadier General Ghassan Bakir, announced that security forces arrested Khaled Mohammad Al-Hussein, who previously held the rank of First Assistant in the State Security Branch of Idlib City during the period of the former Syrian regime, due to his involvement in systematic violations against civilians in the governorate.

In a statement relayed by the Ministry of Interior via its Telegram channel, Bakir said: “Preliminary investigation results revealed that the individual worked as an investigator in the State Security Branch of Idlib City and was involved in interrogating revolutionaries against the former regime and fabricating malicious charges against them.”

Bakir pointed out that “after the liberation of Idlib City from the grip of the former regime, the individual moved to Hama Governorate, where he worked in the research department affiliated with the security branches, continuing in this role until the fall of the regime.”

He noted that the arrested individual was referred to specialized judicial authorities to take the necessary legal actions against him according to the standing laws and regulations.
