The Iranian news agency INSA reported on Wednesday that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will lead the Iranian negotiating team in the Pakistani capital, alongside US Vice President J.D. Vance.
Pakistan announces two-day holiday in Islamabad ahead of US-Iran talks
Pakistani authorities announced a two-day official holiday in Islamabad starting Thursday.
The White House indicated that Vice President J.D. Vance will lead a delegation to Islamabad over the weekend.
The notice issued on Wednesday evening by the Islamabad district administration did not mention the reason for the holiday, but the capital authorities often announce holidays or restrictions for security reasons before high-level diplomatic events.
The holiday on Thursday and Friday is limited to the capital only, according to the notice issued by the Islamabad district commissioner on Wednesday.
The deputy commissioner's office posted on X that essential services will remain open and advised residents to plan their activities accordingly. Essential service offices, including police, hospitals, and electricity and gas companies, will remain operational.

Trump: Fake news published a fabricated ten-point plan on Iran negotiations
US President Donald Trump said that the ten-point plan published by The New York Times and CNN is intended to damage the reputation of those involved in the peace process.
Trump added that the reports about a ten-point plan regarding negotiations with Iran are baseless, describing what was published by the two outlets as a “complete fabrication.”

Trump attacks people unrelated to US-Iran negotiations and threatens to expose them
Trump targeted individuals he said have no involvement in the US-Iran negotiations, warning that he would reveal them all.
In a post on Truth Social, he wrote, “A huge number of agreements, lists, and letters are being sent by people who have no connection to US-Iran negotiations, and in many cases they are complete frauds, charlatans, and worse.”
The US president emphasized that these individuals will be exposed quickly once the federal investigation concludes.
He added that this situation is similar to a fake story CNN published last night, which cited a “source” with no authority or right to issue a letter claiming significant power.
Trump stressed that there is only one set of key points accepted by the United States, which will be discussed behind closed doors during the negotiations. He noted that these are the points on which the ceasefire agreement was based, describing them as reasonable and easily adaptable.
Trump: US forces will remain around Iran until the agreement is fully honored
Trump stated that all US ships, aircraft, and military personnel will remain in their positions in and around Iran until Tehran fully complies with the agreement.
In a Truth Social post on Thursday, he said, “US ships, aircraft, military personnel, as well as additional ammunition and weapons and everything appropriate and necessary for effective pursuit and the destruction of a weakened enemy, will remain in place in and around Iran until full compliance with the real agreement reached.”
He added that if Iran fails to comply, which he called “highly unlikely,” hostilities will resume on a larger, stronger, and more powerful scale than either side has ever seen.
Trump reaffirmed that the agreement has long stipulated, despite what he called “misleading propaganda,” that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open and secure.
He noted that the US military is “currently enhancing its readiness” and added that it is “actively looking forward to its next mission.”
He concluded, “America is back.”
Two-week ceasefire mediated by Pakistan

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf announced that three key ceasefire provisions were violated by the US before the start of negotiations in Islamabad.
