In Iran, signs have emerged of the formation of human chains around power plants and vital facilities, in response to official calls to protect them amidst escalating threats to strike energy infrastructure.

The Secretary of the Supreme Council for Youth and Adolescents, Reza Rahimi, in a televised message, called on the youth to gather around power plants, describing them as "national assets and wealth" that must be defended during this sensitive phase.

Rahimi said: “I call on all the youth, athletes, artists, students, university students, and their professors to be present around power plants,” stressing that these facilities “belong to the future of Iran and to the Iranian youth, regardless of any political orientation.”

This move comes before the deadline set by Donald Trump, who hinted at targeting energy plants and bridges in Iran if no agreement is reached.

Iran has previously adopted the method of “human chains,” or what is referred to as “human shields,” to protect its nuclear facilities during periods of tension with the West, indicating heightened concerns about targeting civilian and vital installations.
