Iran reports third attack near Bushehr nuclear plant as tensions rise over Arak reactor
The International Atomic Energy Agency reported on Friday that Iran informed it of another attack near the Bushehr nuclear power plant, the third of its kind in ten days, without any reports of damage to the plant's operating reactor or any radioactive leakage.
The agency added that Iran stated the plant remained in normal condition following the attack.

Earlier, Iranian media reported that a shell had hit the Bushehr nuclear plant, noting that there were no human casualties or material damage.
Prior to that, the Israeli military announced it had targeted the Arak heavy water reactor, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened to retaliate against industrial companies and heavy industries linked to the United States and Israel in the region.
Israeli army spokesperson Ella Waweya said in a post on the X platform on Friday, "After detecting attempts at reconstruction, we attacked the heavy water reactor in Arak," explaining that it is a critical infrastructure for producing plutonium intended for nuclear weapons.
Meanwhile, a local official in Markazi province, Hassan Qamari, stated that the Arak heavy water complex was targeted in two phases by a US-Israeli attack, according to Fars News Agency. Heavy water is used to slow down neutrons in nuclear reactors.
