U.S. President Donald Trump said today, Thursday, that Iran was preparing to launch attacks on Gulf states before the American strike, and added that these states chose neutrality despite being attacked.

In a clear reference to the war in Ukraine, Trump said that NATO countries “did not want to get dragged in with us, and we also don’t want to get dragged into their wars,” reiterating that a quarter of a century ago he called NATO “nothing but a paper tiger.”

He continued on Iran: “We have eliminated the regime in Iran, and they are begging us to reach an agreement. We will see if we can strike the right deal and open the Strait of Hormuz.” He noted that “Iran should not charge passage fees for the Strait of Hormuz, but they do.” He emphasized that he is not interested in reaching an agreement with Iran, adding that “controlling its oil is an option on the table.

He pointed out that Iran has a chance to abandon its nuclear program, warning, “Otherwise, we will be their worst nightmare,” and insisting that the Iranians “cannot shoot down our planes.” He added that the United States is holding “very important talks with Iran, and they have offered us 10 oil ships flying the Pakistani flag as a gift.”

The American‑Israeli war on Iran has entered its 27th day, as Washington has intensified its warnings that it could turn Iran into “hell” if the two sides fail to reach a deal to end the confrontation.
