Dubai Humanitarian sends 21.5 tons of medical aid to support displaced communities in Lebanon
Dubai Humanitarian, the largest humanitarian center in the world, has dispatched a relief convoy carrying 21.5 metric tons of essential medical supplies to support displaced people in Lebanon amid the current crisis. This initiative comes under the directives of the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The official Emirates news agency, WAM, reported that the convoy departed on Friday, March 20, and is expected to arrive within a few days.
According to the agency, this shipment comes from the World Health Organization’s stock, reaffirming Dubai Humanitarian’s ongoing commitment to effective humanitarian response. The convoy includes a range of medicines and biomedical medical supplies to support healthcare services addressing the needs of displaced populations, contributing to ongoing relief efforts to alleviate the humanitarian impact of the crisis.

The Executive Director and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, Giuseppe Saba, said: "Following the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Humanitarian continues to enable the delivery of vital aid to communities affected by crises. This operation reflects the strength of our integrated system, as our members and partners continue to adapt to evolving challenges to ensure the uninterrupted flow of essential assistance. As the leading humanitarian center in this field, we affirm our readiness to expand our support by working in close coordination with various stakeholders within Dubai, across the United Arab Emirates, and internationally, ensuring humanitarian efforts that are effective, reliable, and responsive."
The agency noted that Dubai Humanitarian carried out this operation by covering transportation costs from its Global Humanitarian Impact Fund. This is part of its role as a global enabler for emergency preparedness and response, leveraging strategic partnerships and enhancing regional connectivity and operational readiness to support the international humanitarian community and stand alongside those in need.
