Saudi Arabia thwarts Iranian missile and drone attack in Al Kharj and Al Jawf
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced today, Thursday, the interception and destruction of three cruise missiles and three drones outside the city of Al Kharj, southeast of the capital Riyadh, in addition to the destruction of a drone east of the Al Jawf region, as part of the ongoing attacks the Kingdom is facing.
The official spokesperson of the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al Maliki, stated that Saudi defenses intercepted in the past hours three cruise missiles outside the city of Al Kharj, three drones east of the same governorate, and one drone east of the Al Jawf region.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that the Ras Tanura oil refinery belonging to Aramco was subjected to a new attempted attack, saying that preliminary assessments indicate the attack was carried out with a drone and did not result in any damage.

Last Tuesday, the Saudi Ministry of Defense reported that the US Embassy in Riyadh was targeted by an attack with two drones, which resulted in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building.
This comes amid rising regional tensions and the continuation of Iranian attacks on several Gulf countries. Tehran says that through these missile and drone attacks it is targeting US interests in the region.
