Syrian Security Forces announce arrests of cell allegedly linked to Hezbollah
The Syrian Ministry of the Interior announced on Sunday that its security units in the Rif Dimashq Governorate, in coordination with the General Intelligence Agency, carried out a series of precise and well-executed operations targeting a cell responsible for several attacks that impacted the Mazzeh area and its military airport.
These operations resulted in the complete dismantling of the cell and the arrest of all its members.
The ministry said in a communiqué that these operations followed continuous field monitoring and tracking of rocket launch sites in the Daraya and Kafr Sousa areas. Security efforts led to the identification of one of the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks and his close surveillance, which ultimately resulted in uncovering the remaining members of the cell. Consequently, several security raids were carried out, during which all those involved were arrested and several drones, prepared for use in terrorist activities, were seized.

Initial investigations with the detainees revealed their links to external entities, and that the source of the rockets and launch platforms used in the attacks, as well as the seized drones, belonged to Hezbollah. They also confessed to planning new attacks using the drones, but their arrest hindered the terrorist plot before it could be carried out.
According to the ministry, all confiscated items were seized, and the detainees were referred to the Counter-Terrorism Department to complete the necessary investigations.
