Tensions rise as NATO and US respond to escalating Iran conflict
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced today, Thursday, that “the United States did not consult allies before starting the Iranian war.”
Rutte stated, “Iran's missile capabilities are dangerous and increasingly threaten allies over time.”
He added, “More than 30 countries are coordinating their efforts to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Rutte urged alliance countries to increase their defense spending to address the prevailing global uncertainty.
He stated, “The alliance continues to enhance its defensive readiness in the Arctic region, in light of the increasing strategic importance of the northern flank,” during his participation in extensive military exercises hosted by Norway.
Rutte emphasized, “NATO will defend every inch of its territory,” affirming the readiness of its forces to operate in various conditions, including harsh polar environments.
The American‑Israeli war on Iran has entered its 27th day, as Washington escalates its threats to turn Iran into “hell” if the two sides do not reach a deal to end the confrontation.
