Switzerland of the Middle East
Lebanon is known as “Switzerland of the Middle East” because it is a country where you go skiing in the morning and drive to the coast in the afternoon. Lebanon is also known as an eco-friendly community towards its environment and habitats. However, this image of Lebanon became distorted due to the garbage crisis that struck the country and caused a public fury and outrage.
Basically, what is happening is a hazard towards nature because we are not only polluting our land, but also the ocean which has harmful impact on the marine wild life. Therefore, it is time to take action by taking the initiative to help our country be clean by implementing waste management strategies, accomplishing the 3Rs, and helping the NGOs with their cause.
