A miseducated child is a lost child. In such a competitive world, it is a must for everyone to receive good education, especially children. Education develops a high level of perspective in looking at life; it enhances critical thinking, raises awareness on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and helps acquire a good knowledge of rights and duties thus leading to a better future… good citizenship.
Education plays a vital role in having a better future and developing a high level of perspective in looking at life. Education of a young child does not aim at preparing her/him for school only, but preparing them for life. Education opens various doors to opportunities for achieving better prospects in life, that is, a better future. Basically, there is no point in making our kids work instead of going to school. The International Labor Organization stated in its latest World Report on Child Labor (2013) that there are around 250 million working children in the world. Moreover, education gives us the ability to understand every aspect in life as it makes people think positively, know their human and social rights and their responsibilities toward their country.
Besides, education enhances critical thinking and raises awareness of maintaining good health. It is well-known that critical thinking promotes personal autonomy and involves logic as well as creativity. That’s why education aims to make a child have a clear thinking and reasoned deliberation which are two fundamentals of a democratic life necessary to overcome obstacles through thinking in a logical, reasonable and responsible way. In addition to that, education raises awareness of maintaining a healthy diet as it educates children about their physical and mental health and motivates them to reduce risky health behavior.
In conclusion, every child has the right to receive good education and there is no reason and no excuse for child labor as it is a kind of child abuse. So let us sacrifice today so that our children can have a better tomorrow because education is the most powerful weapon which one should equip him/herself with.
