Israel targets Lebanon’s strategic bridges amid escalating military threats
Amid threats to Hezbollah and southern Lebanon’s infrastructure, Israeli forces target Qasmiyeh and Tarfalsieh bridges, while Defense Minister warns of further demolitions along the Litani River.
In a dangerous development targeting Lebanon’s infrastructure, the Israeli military has threatened to strike the Qasmiyeh Bridge on the coastal highway that connects southern Lebanon with the capital Beirut.
Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee published a threat on the platform X, stating: "Due to Hezbollah’s activities and the movement of its members to southern Lebanon under the guise of civilian residents, the military is compelled to carry out broad and precise targeting of Hezbollah’s operations."
He added: "Based on this, and to prevent the transfer of reinforcements and combat means, the Israeli army intends to attack the Qasmiyeh Bridge on the coastal highway," urging residents to "move to the area north of the Zahrani River and refrain from any movement southward that could endanger their lives."

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated: "The army has received instructions for the immediate destruction of all bridges over the Litani River."
He added: "We have received instructions to expedite the demolition of Lebanese homes in the frontline villages to eliminate the threats facing us, following the model of Beit Hanoun and Rafah in Gaza."
On March 13, the Israeli army raided the Tarfalsieh-Zrariyeh Bridge on the Litani River, which connects the villages in the Zahrani and Sidon areas with those in the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts.
