War until May?
In this context, Israeli Radio reported today that “the army will request government approval to raise the number of reserve forces to 450,000 soldiers in preparation for a large-scale ground operation in Lebanon.”
Israeli Radio added that “the decision-making circle estimates the war will continue for three weeks to eliminate Hezbollah and achieve objectives in Iran.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 12 stated that “the army is reinforcing its forces with two additional brigades to control more confrontation lines in southern Lebanon,” while the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted an Israeli army official as saying that “the fighting in Lebanon may continue until the end of May.”
Moreover, Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz “is pushing to deepen the ground operation, control territories in Lebanon, and eliminate anti-tank missile threats,” noting that “Katz presented this approach in both the small and expanded cabinet and has so far received Netanyahu’s support for this path.”
