Iranian foreign minister holds talks with regional ministers as Muscat negotiations begin
Araghchi updates Turkish, Egyptian, and Saudi counterparts on U.S.-Iran indirect negotiations, calling discussions “a good start” amid ongoing trust concerns.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held phone talks with his counterparts in Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia regarding the Muscat negotiations.
According to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry on X, Araghchi “held separate talks with the foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, during which he updated them on the latest developments in the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in Muscat.”
Araghchi described the talks as “a good start,” emphasizing the “need to address the existing lack of trust regarding the intentions and goals of the U.S. side.”

Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of these regional countries welcomed the launch of the Muscat negotiations and stressed the “importance of continuing discussions to reach a diplomatic solution and prevent an escalation of tensions,” according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
Today, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, traveled to the Sultanate of Oman at the head of a delegation, “carrying Tehran’s response to the nuclear talks with Washington,” the Associated Press reported.
