Lebanese sports fans are awaiting the fate of the 2025-2026 season in the Lebanese Football League.

It appears that the Lebanese Football Association is determined to complete the season regardless of the circumstances. The Secretary General of the Association, Jihad Al-Chahaf, confirmed to Annahar that “the possibility of canceling the football season is not on the table, even if it requires waiting until after the 2026 World Cup.”

He added, “As for the southern stadiums that remained intact during the war, they are ready to host first-division matches, but the resumption of activity there remains contingent on the general situation in the country.”

Al-Chahaf emphasized that “opinions may differ between supporters and opponents of the federation’s decision, but the main goal remains the interest of the game.”

A federation source also told Annahar that a federation meeting could be held on Tuesday, April 21, to decide on all matters related to the decision to complete the season.
