On Wednesday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the ongoing Israeli strikes on Lebanon pose a serious threat to the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, according to his spokesperson.

In a statement, his spokesperson said, "The ongoing military activity in Lebanon poses a serious threat to the ceasefire and to efforts to achieve a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region. The Secretary-General reiterates his call for all parties to immediately cease hostilities."

The spokesperson added, "The Secretary-General strongly condemns the loss of civilian lives and expresses deep concern over the rising number of civilian casualties."

He continued, "There is no military solution to the conflict. The Secretary-General continues to urge all parties to resort to diplomatic channels."

On Wednesday, the International Committee of the Red Cross condemned the "death and destruction" in densely populated areas of Lebanon following intense Israeli strikes.

In a statement, the committee said, "Any comprehensive agreement regarding the region must take into account the safety, protection, and dignity of civilians in Lebanon."

The statement noted that people "urgently need relief from the violence after more than five weeks of fighting."

In the same context, Turkey strongly condemned the Israeli strikes on Lebanon and called on the international community to take action, according to a statement from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday evening.

The ministry said, "We strongly condemn the intensified Israeli attacks against Lebanon, which have caused a large number of casualties. These attacks worsen the humanitarian situation in the country. The international community must act immediately to end the Israeli occupation of Lebanon and protect civilians."

The ministry pointed out that these strikes, which occurred on Wednesday, are the most severe since the outbreak of the war in early March.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Israeli attacks on Lebanon reflect Israel’s intention to obstruct international efforts to de-escalate the situation and represent a new attempt by Israel to plunge the region into chaos.

The statement said that the blatant violations committed by Israel the day after the United States and Iran announced a ceasefire reflect a deliberate desire to hinder regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting dialogue and diplomacy and constitute a new attempt to plunge the region into chaos.

Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Israel must immediately stop its attacks on Lebanon following the announcement by the United States and Iran of a two-week ceasefire.

The ministry’s statement said, "This announcement of a halt to military operations must be reflected in Israel immediately stopping its repeated aggressions against brotherly Lebanon."

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed that following the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of a two-week ceasefire, "the situation in Lebanon remains critical."
