Lebanon left out: Israel’s ceasefire choice sparks tensions across the region
The Israeli political leadership remains committed to its decision not to include Lebanon in the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States, amid continued attacks on southern Lebanese villages since the early hours of the morning.
In an official statement, the Israeli army said: “We have completed a wave of airstrikes conducted overnight on Iran and continue operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon," affirming the "continuation of fighting and ground operations in Lebanon against Hezbollah.”
The statement added: “The ceasefire campaign on Iran is according to the directives from the political leadership.”
Later, the Israeli army issued an urgent warning to residents of southern Lebanon located south of the Zahrani River.
They emphasized that "the battle in Lebanon continues and the ceasefire does not include Lebanon."
Meanwhile, "Channel 12 Israeli" stated that "the Northern Command informed mayors of the need to remain on high alert," confirming that "the recent understandings do not apply to Lebanon."
The Northern Command added that "the current security protocols remain in effect until further notice.”

Furthermore, Israeli media considered that “if the war in Lebanon against Hezbollah stops, it constitutes a moral, ethical, and security failure of the first degree.”
On the other hand, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority (Kan) reported that the adviser to the Iranian parliament speaker warned that “any attack on Lebanon will lead to renewed fighting on all front
This comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this morning that the Washington-Tehran agreement "does not include the ceasefire in Lebanon."

This statement contradicts the previous declaration by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who played a mediating role in reaching the truce, in which he stated that the ceasefire includes “everywhere, including Lebanon.”
Furthermore, Hezbollah sources informed Reuters that "the party adhered to the ceasefire this morning despite Israeli attacks."
According to sources, an official stance from Hezbollah is expected regarding Netanyahu's declaration excluding Lebanon from the truce.
So far, the Lebanese state has not issued an official position on the ceasefire.
