Iraq closes Shalamjah border crossing after deadly airstrikes in Iran (video)

Security sources confirmed to Reuters on Saturday that Iraq has closed the Shalamjah border crossing in the south with Iran following airstrikes on the Iranian side that killed an Iraqi citizen.
The Security Committee in Basra announced that operations at the border crossing have been completely halted due to the shelling of the area on the Iranian side.
For his part, the head of the Iraqi Border Ports Authority reported that one person was killed and five others were injured as a result of the attack on the Shalamjah crossing, amid rising tensions along the border between the two countries.
