From Raqqa to Deir ez-Zor, the extremist group claims responsibility for multiple assaults on Syrian army members and government leaders, signaling a dangerous surge in operations across the country.

The "ISIS" organization announced on Saturday that it had claimed responsibility for two attacks targeting members of the Syrian army in northern and eastern Syria, describing them as part of what it called a "new phase" of operations against the country's leadership.
The organization said in a statement released through its affiliated "Dabiq News Agency" that it had targeted an "apostate Syrian regime member" in the city of al-Mayadin in Deir ez-Zor province with a handgun, and had attacked two other army personnel with machine guns in the northern city of Raqqa.
For its part, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that a Syrian army soldier and a civilian were killed on Saturday by "unknown attackers." A military source told Reuters that the soldier belonged to the army’s 42nd Division.
The "Islamic State" organization released a recorded statement on Saturday evening by its spokesperson, Abu Hudhayfah al-Ansari, asserting that Syria has "shifted from Iranian occupation to Turkish-American occupation."
The organization announced that it had begun a "new phase of operations" in Syria, describing al-Sharaa as the "guardian" of the global coalition, and vowed that his fate would be no different from Assad's.

Al-Sharaa had signed Syria’s accession to the global coalition to defeat the "Islamic State" during a visit to the United States last November, where he met American President Donald Trump.
These recent incidents come two days after "ISIS" claimed responsibility for another attack in Deir ez-Zor that left a member of the Internal Security Forces, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, dead and another injured.
In the past few hours, several accounts on social media and pro-ISIS channels on Telegram have called for intensifying attacks using motorcycles and firearms.
The "Islamic State" group has carried out six attacks against targets affiliated with the Syrian government since Assad’s fall.
A report released last week by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism stated that al-Shara and two senior government ministers were targeted in five failed assassination attempts by the extremist organization.
