Iran Defense Council says Threats will draw firm response
Iran’s Defense Council warned Tuesday that continued hostile actions or threatening rhetoric against the country would prompt a proportionate and decisive response, calling Iran’s security, independence and territorial integrity inviolable.
In a statement issued by the council’s secretariat, Iran condemned what it described as escalating threats and interventionist remarks directed at the country, saying they violate accepted principles of international law.
The council accused Iran’s long-standing adversaries of intensifying threats as part of a deliberate strategy, alleging they have openly claimed responsibility for the killing of Iranian civilians, including women and children.
It said the approach aims to weaken and fragment Iran and goes beyond political posturing, describing it as part of a broader campaign of pressure and intimidation that would not go unanswered.
Citing national unity, deterrent capabilities and full defensive readiness, the council reiterated that Iran’s core security interests are a “red line” that cannot be crossed.
Any aggression against national interests, interference in internal affairs or actions undermining Iran’s stability would be met with a targeted and proportionate response, the statement said.
