Turkish FM meets Hamas officials in Ankara to discuss Gaza ceasefire
A source at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Hakan Fidan met today, Wednesday, with officials from the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" in Ankara to discuss the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to advance the agreement to the second phase.
The source indicated that Hamas officials informed Fidan that they had fulfilled the requirements of the agreement, but Israel continues to target Gaza to prevent the transition to the next phase of the agreement.
He also explained that Hamas officials said the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip is insufficient, and that vital goods such as medicine, housing equipment, and fuel are urgently needed.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz affirmed that "Israel will never withdraw from the entire Gaza Strip," noting that "the Israeli government does not intend to establish settlements in Gaza."
During a ceremony for the construction of 1,200 housing units in Beit El, he said: "We will never withdraw from the entire Gaza Strip, and we will establish settlement outposts in the northern sector."
He continued: "We will establish settlement outposts in northern Gaza at the right time and appropriate timing. There are those who demonstrate, but we are the ones in control."
