Minister of social affairs reports 780,000 registered displaced people and 120,000 in shelters

President updated on Lebanon’s displacement crisis as international aid continues to arrive.

Minister of Social Affairs Haneen Al Sayyid announced from Baabda Palace that she updated the President on the latest developments in the response plan for Lebanon’s displacement crisis, noting that around 780,000 displaced people are registered on the platform, while approximately 120,000 are residing in shelters.

 

She added, “We reviewed the main challenges facing the response plan, as well as the humanitarian aid arriving in Lebanon to support the displaced.”

She continued, “Yesterday, a plane carrying aid from the European Union arrived and will be distributed through the shelters, with additional aid from Jordan, France, and other countries expected to follow.”

 

She also said, “The discussions included the calls the President is making with several countries to secure further support and assistance for Lebanon.”
