Rmeish and surrounding towns evacuated amid Israeli strikes in Southern Lebanon (Video)
Israeli airstrikes and attacks moved today between villages and towns in southern Lebanon, causing casualties and injuries.
In the latest developments, the Rmeish Municipality asked all displaced people in the town to leave immediately, after the town’s local official received a call from the Israeli army requesting that anyone affiliated with Hezbollah be removed, as they would be targeted.

Rmeish Mayor Hanna Al-Amil told Annahar that the displaced people from the surrounding villages left Rmeish with the support of the Lebanese army and in coordination with the South Litani sector command, the Ministry of Interior, and the Nabatieh governor, and that shelter centers were arranged for them in the Sidon area.
He added, “We did not have shelter centers in Rmeish. We hosted the displaced in our homes, but we had to evacuate the town because the situation is no longer under our control.”
Earlier, it was reported that Alma al-Shaab was evacuated in the morning with the support of UNIFIL following security warnings.

Mayor Chadi Sayah confirmed that the Mechanism Committee informed UNIFIL and the Lebanese army of the need to evacuate the town, noting that the relevant authorities relayed this request to the municipality to organize the civilians’ departure.
In the past two days, the towns of Alma al-Shaab and Qlaya were subjected to Israeli shelling, which resulted in the death of Qlaya’s parish priest, Father Rai, and another civilian, in addition to injuring others.
