Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Tuesday that Islamabad is ready to host negotiations to end the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, following speculation that it might play a mediating role.

He wrote on X: "Pakistan welcomes and fully supports ongoing efforts to advance dialogue aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, in a way that serves the cause of peace and stability both in the region and beyond."

He added, "Subject to the approval of the United States and Iran, Pakistan is ready and honored to be the host country to facilitate meaningful talks with decisive outcomes for a comprehensive resolution of the ongoing conflict."

In addition, a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Minister Wang Yi called on the parties to the Iranian crisis to seize every available opportunity to start peace talks as soon as possible, during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.

The statement added that Wang emphasized to Araghchi that dialogue is always better than fighting and that "all contentious issues must be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, not by using force."
