U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States had no prior knowledge of any Israeli attack targeting an Iranian gas facility, emphasizing that Israel would not carry out additional attacks related to the South Pars gas field, which he described as “highly important.”

The U.S. president accused Iran of carrying out an “unjustified” attack on a natural gas facility in Qatar, warning that the United States could “completely destroy” the Iranian South Pars gas field if Tehran attacked Qatar.

Airstrikes targeted the infrastructure of the South Pars offshore field, one of the largest gas fields in the world, in an escalation considered the most significant against Iran’s energy sector since the war began about three weeks ago. This field is a cornerstone of Iran’s domestic gas production, raising the risk of worsening the country’s internal energy crisis.
