The atmosphere of Eid al Adha continues in a number of Arab and Islamic countries amid exchanges of official greetings between heads of state, distinctive religious rituals that include performing Eid prayer and the Hajj rituals, alongside celebratory scenes reflecting the religious and social dimension of this occasion that unites Muslims around the world.

 

 

Greetings from Arab leaders on the occasion

 

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, congratulated the rulers of the Emirates, its people, and those residing on its land on the occasion of the blessed Eid al Adha, praying to God to return this occasion to the homeland and the world with security, stability, and prosperity.

 


 

In Saudi Arabia, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, expressed his gratitude to God for the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques and caring for pilgrims, wishing that “Eid returns to the Islamic nation with goodness, peace, and stability.”

 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi also congratulated the Egyptian people and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid al Adha, wishing that God brings it back with goodness, prosperity, and blessings, and calling for the country to live in security, stability, and values of peace and cooperation.

 

Similarly, Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa performed Eid prayer at Abdullah ibn Abbas Mosque in the city of Aleppo, in the presence of several officials, amid notable public attendance and scenes of celebration welcoming the occasion.

 

 

Several Syrian officials also attended the prayer alongside President al Sharaa.

In Egypt, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi performed Eid al Adha prayer at Al Rahman Al Rahim Mosque in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of a number of senior state officials, as part of the official Eid celebrations, amid festive atmospheres witnessed across various governorates.

 

The city of Karbala in Iraq witnessed the arrival of massive crowds of millions of believers and visitors from various Iraqi provinces and beyond to perform Eid al Adha prayer, amid strict security and service measures to ensure smooth movement and the orderly conduct of the ceremonies.

 

Festive atmosphere in Saudi Arabia and the UAE

In parallel with the religious rituals, Saudi Arabia witnessed Eid al Adha prayer across various regions amid a safe and reassuring atmosphere, with widespread turnout at prayer areas and mosques.

 

 

In the United Arab Emirates, streets, squares, and bridges were decorated with festive ornaments and lighting, in a scene reflecting an atmosphere of joy, alongside noticeable activity in markets and shopping centers, in parallel with family and entertainment events across the various emirates.

Eid al Adha is considered one of the most important Islamic holidays. It falls on the tenth day of Dhu al Hijjah and is linked to the Hajj rituals, which include standing at Arafat, Tawaf al Ifadah, the stoning of the Jamarat, and the sacrifice of animals. It embodies the values of sacrifice, solidarity, and maintaining family ties among Muslims.
