Macron slams Iran’s strike on UAE as “unacceptable,” urges regional security action
France backs Gulf allies after unprecedented missile and drone attack, calling for renewed access to the Strait of Hormuz and stronger regional defense cooperation.
French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the Iranian attacks on the UAE as “unacceptable,” after the UAE reported being targeted by missile and drone strikes for the first time since the Middle East truce was established.
Macron said on Tuesday in a statement on the “X” platform that “the Iranian strikes (on Monday) against the UAE’s civilian infrastructure are unjustified and unacceptable,” reaffirming France’s support for the UAE and allied countries in the region in defending their territories and reiterating his call to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
