Amid an atmosphere of sadness and anger, the Lebanese Civil Defense and the residents of the villages of Naqoura, Houla, and Samaiyeh in southern Lebanon escorted this afternoon the bodies of three members who were killed while performing their duty in the town of Majdalzoun, following an airstrike that targeted the town and resulted in a number of casualties and injuries.

The martyrs are Hussein Ghadbouni from Naqoura, Hadi Daher from Houla, and Hussein Sati from Samaiyeh.

The honoring and farewell ceremony was held in the courtyard of the Civil Defense center in Tyre, in the presence of a number of local members of parliament and the Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier General Imad Khreish, who represented the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, in addition to the families of the martyrs, along with religious, spiritual, health, and community delegations, as well as representatives of the Lebanese Army command and the municipality.

The funeral procession arrived amid the sound of fireworks. After the funeral was placed on the platform, Brigadier General Imad Khreich was introduced as the representative of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Minister of Interior Ahmad Al-Hajjar.

He delivered a speech focusing on the qualities of Civil Defense personnel, their merits, and their distinguished role. He also announced that the names of the three martyrs would be commemorated and permanently honored at the Civil Defense center in Tyre.

After the bodies were prayed over by the Mufti of Tyre and Jabal Amel, Sheikh Hassan Abdullah, two of them were transferred to a temporary burial in a cemetery in Tyre due to the inability to bury them in Houla and Naqoura, while the body of Sati was taken to his hometown of Samaiyeh.
