We’re all well aware that things — government things, that is — are beyond bad in Lebanon, and there isn’t much left that can get worse. In fact, if Lebanon were a business, it would have filed for bankruptcy long ago, and management would have been fired, with no job prospects in any horizon. So how are we supposed, in spite of all of that, to take the upcoming elections seriously and actually go and vote? I can’t answer that. But what I will do is tell you about why, this year, I am going to vote. There is a palpable though indescribable change in the air; a something, or rather some new things.
