Human Respect for Animals

Human Respect for Animals
Human Respect for Animals
A+ A-

Long ago, humans and animals coexisted and depended on each other to survive. Humans were quite respectful of the symbiotic relationship they had nurtured. However, as time progressed, greed and violence took over took place devastating losses. How can we view ourselves "on top of the food chain" when we have a strong tendency to behave recklessly?

Humans and animals are fairly alike. They have practically the same needs in terms of oxygen, food, sleep, and movement. They should not be considered properties; they are living beings.

Respecting animals has increased a lot since ancient times and animals nowadays have rights aimed at protecting them. In the past, Have not worshiped animals, but they have also sacrificed them. The treatment of animals in the Roman Empire was generally a direct reflection of ancient Roman culture. The Romans were fascinated by wild animals. They liked looking at them being killed. Elephants, for example, were a sign of wealth, and they were used to build temples.

For thousands of years, since the Hindu religion first evolved, respecting animal life has been considered an important part of Indian’s beliefs. Cows in particular are sacred and cannot be harmed.

Today, many species face extinction for countless reasons. Some animals are endangered because of habitat pollution while others are being poached for their beautiful fur, feather, skin, ivory, etc. Moreover, animal habitats are being destroyed to build concrete jungles instead, so animals are obliged to abandon their natural habitats and seek refuge elsewhere.

To avoid extinction, animal rights should be well enforced. Animal rights are many, but here are a few of them:

Animals have the right to life.

Animals have the right to be treated with empathy.

They have the right to be provided with a secure and safe environment.

We should protect endangered species by relocating them to specific regions called ‘’natural reserves’’ where no one is allowed to hunt them. In addition, animals should have the appropriate medical care to keep them healthy.

Animals are Man’s best friends. We have been coexisting for centuries and we will remain so for eternity. It has been historically and theoretically proven that humans and animals complete one another. The human respect towards animals should never fade, because once it does, humanity will risk collapsing.
