Damascus moves in: Syrian forces take over former SDF zones in the northeast

Syria’s Ministry of Defense published a new map showing the deployment of its forces in the northeastern regions of Syria, specifically in the provinces of Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Hasakah, which were under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) before the recent clashes and the signing of the new agreement.
Earlier, the Syrian Army’s Operations Directorate said army units had reached the outskirts of Hasakah as part of a deployment plan under the agreement concluded with the SDF and announced the continued securing of new areas toward the international M4 highway and the eastern and northern countryside of Hasakah.
For its part, Syria’s Ministry of Interior said Internal Security Forces have begun entering the cities of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor east of the Euphrates River to enforce security and stability.
According to reports, the Syrian Army entered the village of Ain Issa in Raqqa province after the SDF withdrew from it to Ayn al-Arab (Kobane) north of Aleppo with heavy equipment and large numbers of fighters.
