I must admit, I am humbled to have been selected as a contributor to this special edition of An-Nahar. After all, my passion for writing is the reason that prompted me to launch my blog lanaelsahely.com in the first place. It is so fulfilling to be able to share my ideas in such a respectable newspaper. When thinking of the beginnings of a nation, the first thing that comes to mind is definitely identity. Only by forming a collective national identity can a population feel a sense of belonging to their land, country and one another.
