Hope in my Lebanon

I’ve lost count of the times I have read “Beirut Rising from the Ashes” after a war, political crisis or spree of assassinations. This happens whenever people need to believe in a brighter future within grasp. In the past 20 years, the amount of turmoil and trauma we’ve experienced would be enough to push any sane person to find any other country to seek refuge in, a new place to start over in. A more calm life, one marked with some sense of stability. However, despite everything, we’ve always managed to show resilience and grasp onto the smallest glimpse of hope, then build upon that hope and rise from the proverbial ashes again, or at least try to.We’re under a constant barrage of unfortunate and unsettling news, often blown out of proportion and embellished with disaster and terrorism, hopelessness and futility.
